My Family Travel Hacks for Smooth Adventures
Today, I want to dive into some family travel hacks I've picked up over time. Whether it's just an overnight trip or a month-long journey, these tips have been super helpful. If you're traveling for more than a few days, definitely consider these!
First off, I always recommend bringing paracetamol for both adults and kids. You never know when travel sickness might strike, or suddenly there's a headache—maybe because you missed your coffee or had too much of it.
Next, nail clippers. Sounds funny, right? Even on a short trip, you never know when a nail might need clipping. It's a must for us because my little one often ends up with broken nails after swimming or playing on slides.
Another must-bring is an extension lead. If your family is anything like mine, where everyone has at least two devices, you'll need to charge multiple things overnight. Hotels often have just one or two sockets in awkward places, so an extension lead helps place chargers wherever convenient.
I also recommend a TV box so that you can continue to watch your favourite stuff on Netflix, Disney, Amazon TV, or Apple TV. In hotels, we used to just rely on iPads or phones to entertain our little lion but now, we take a TV box, so he can watch on a bigger, more eye-friendly screen. Don't forget the HDMI cable or any necessary connectors.
For trips longer than a week, I'd suggest bringing scissors. They're handy for opening packaging and other random tasks. You don't need big, sharp ones—even small safety scissors work great.
Lastly, consider a clothes dryer, the kind you hang pants on. We always run out of underwear, and a sink wash with a clothes dryer means fresh undies whenever needed. It beats having them draped over every hotel surface, and you can avoid the laundromat if preferred.
These are my trusty travel tips for family adventures. I hope they make your next trip a bit smoother!
