My First File

Okay, this is probably a bit of a nerdy question. Do you remember your first file, like a file you had to create to store documents? What kind of file was it? What did you put in it?

My first file was for my certificates in school. I had a bunch of certificates that, after six years of being in school, were just randomly put in places here and there. I saw somebody in my class had a file of their certificates and I thought, wow, that looks really nice, you know, that looks really cool, like so official. It made the certificates look even better.

So I decided, right, I'm going to buy a file and put my certificates in there. That was my first file. I never understood why, when you go to an office, they have so many files, or even why my parents had so many files. What is that about? What's in there?

And then, yeah, now I'm a grown up I realize you do need a file for a bunch of things. You need to keep your important documents, you have a file for your work materials, a file for your family stuff, a file for your medical records, a file for your memories, all sorts of things.

One of the oldest human writing found was a record of how many grains are harvested in each year. Fun fact of the day!
